Patient Services Rep

Job Purpose: Patient Services
The Patient Services Representative manages front desk operations, including greeting and directing patients, processing co-pays and payments, answering account balance inquiries, and updating registration and insurance information.
 
Qualifications, Education, & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
Essential Responsibilities: Patient Services
  1. Patient Interaction:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist patients with ensuring all necessary patient registration information is collected and recorded accurately.
  • Answer and manage incoming calls
  • Verify and update patient information in the guarantor account through registration.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation.
  1. Billing and Insurance:
  • Collect and process patient payments, including co-pays and outstanding balances.
  • Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance-related inquiries.
  • Provide patients with information about billing procedures and answer questions related to their accounts.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Provide information about clinic services, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
  1. Administrative Support:
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.
  • Support other clinic staff with various tasks as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  1. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as applicable to area(s) of responsibility
  2. Handle confidential information and materials appropriately and maintain a secure work area
  3. Other duties as assigned
